Light shown from beneath the door of the room, giving hope that her time in the darkness would soon be over. She could hear sounds down the hall, laughter, the party went on without her. Her Master’s voice sounded casual and low- he missed her presence. Guilt over her earlier behaviour tore at her. She held her breath as a foot blocked the light from the hall, hoping it was Him.
